This Friday, October 30th, will be Halloween "Fun"d Friday. For $3, students may wear a school-appropriate costume that does not interfere with normal school activities. Masks and weapons are not allowed.
The CMS Library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair THIS WEEK from 8:20-3:20 each day. All students who shop with a parent/guardian will get 50% off an item of their choice on any day the fair is open. Announcement for Beta Club: We are happy to announce the 2026-2027 Beta Club at CMS is officially starting! The National Beta Club is a scholarship, leadership, and service club for middle grades whose purpose is to encourage effort, reward merit, and promote the qualities of character that make for good citizenship. Returning Beta Members will receive a letter with details for the current school year. Any 8th graders who are new to CMS and any current 7th graders who have met the following criteria can pick up an application in the office. Criteria for Beta Membership are as follows:
Earned all A’s and B’s for semester grades (during middle school)
Do not have any suspensions (ISS or OSS)
Applications are due by Monday, November 2nd to Mrs. Ball (Room 804) or Mrs. Carrillo (Room 607). Students who qualify will be notified by November 9th.

Registration for the Blount County Education Foundation Trot for Education is NOW OPEN! The Trot for Education offers a 5K and one-mile fun run/walk. Funds raised go directly to provide classroom needs in all Blount County Schools. This year's Trot will be on Saturday, November 14, One-Mile Fun Run at 8:30AM and 5K at 9:00AM at Eagleton College and Career Academy. Custom-designed t-shirts will be reserved for participants who register before November 2, and deep discounts are offered for early registration.
